Tijara: Journal of International Trade and Economics in Central Asia is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal dedicated to the exploration of trade, economic policies, and market integration in Central Asia. To maintain the highest academic standards and ensure a smooth publication process, we ask that authors carefully follow the submission guidelines provided below.

By submitting an article to Tijara, authors agree to adhere to these guidelines and to the journal's commitment to double-blind peer review.


1. Types of Articles:
Tijara accepts the following types of articles:

  • Research Articles: Original, in-depth studies on international trade, economics, and market integration in Central Asia.

  • Review Articles: Critical reviews or synthesis of existing research on relevant topics.

  • Policy Papers: Research focused on practical applications of economic theory and policy within Central Asia.

  • Case Studies: Real-world examples of economic or trade policies and their impact on Central Asia.

  • Book Reviews: Reviews of recent books relevant to international trade, economics, and Central Asia’s economic landscape.


2. Submission Requirements:

  • Language: Manuscripts should be written in clear, academic English. Authors whose first language is not English are advised to have their manuscript reviewed by a native speaker or professional editor.

  • Manuscript Format: Submissions must be in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format.

  • Length:

    • Research articles: 4,000–8,000 words.

    • Review articles: 5,000–10,000 words.

    • Book reviews: 1,000–3,000 words.

  • Abstract: Each manuscript must include an abstract of 150-250 words, summarizing the main objectives, methodology, findings, and significance of the research.

  • Keywords: Provide 4–6 keywords, separated by commas, that best describe the main topics of your paper.


3. Manuscript Structure:
Manuscripts should follow the IMRAD format (Introduction, Methodology, Results, and Discussion). Specific sections to include are as follows:

  1. Title: Should be concise, descriptive, and clearly reflect the scope and content of the article.

  2. Abstract: A brief summary of the article, including key points such as purpose, methodology, main findings, and conclusions.

  3. Keywords: 4-6 keywords related to the topic.

  4. Introduction:

    • Provide background information.

    • Define the research problem.

    • Mention the research objectives and significance.

    • State the research question(s) or hypotheses.

  5. Literature Review:

    • Summarize relevant prior research.

    • Identify gaps in the existing literature and how the current research addresses these gaps.

  6. Methodology:

    • Detail the research design, data collection, and analysis methods used.

    • Specify the study’s scope and limitations.

  7. Results: Present the research findings, including tables, figures, and statistical analyses (if applicable). Results should be clear and concise.

  8. Discussion:

    • Interpret the results, comparing them with prior studies.

    • Discuss the implications of the findings for policy, practice, and future research.

    • Address any limitations of the study.

  9. Conclusion:

    • Summarize the main findings.

    • Propose recommendations for policy or practice.

    • Suggest areas for further research.

  10. References:

  • Follow the IEEE referencing style.

  • All references cited in the text must be listed in the reference section.


4. Figures and Tables:

  • Tables: Tables should be presented within the manuscript and numbered consecutively (Table 1, Table 2, etc.). Each table must have a title and be referenced in the main text.

  • Figures: Figures (graphs, charts, maps, etc.) should be of high quality and numbered consecutively (Figure 1, Figure 2, etc.). Ensure that figures are clearly labeled with descriptive captions and that all axes or variables are identified. Figures must also be referenced in the text.

  • Permissions: Authors are responsible for obtaining written permission for any copyrighted material used in their figures or tables.


5. Citations:

  • Use IEEE citation style for in-text citations and references.

  • In-text citations should follow the format: [1], [2], [3]. Multiple references should be separated by commas: [1], [2], [5].

  • Reference list should be in IEEE format, organized alphabetically by the surname of the first author.

6. Ethical Guidelines:

  • Plagiarism: Tijara uses plagiarism detection software. Authors must ensure their work is original and properly cites all sources.

  • Conflicts of Interest: Authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest related to the submitted work.

  • Authorship: Authors should ensure all individuals who have made a substantial contribution to the work are listed as co-authors, and no one who has not contributed significantly should be included as an author.

  • Data and Ethics: For empirical studies, authors must ensure that research involving human subjects adheres to ethical guidelines and that any necessary approvals (e.g., Institutional Review Board approvals) have been obtained.


7. Submission Process:

  • Online Submission: Articles should be submitted via the journal’s online submission system.

  • Double-Blind Review: All submissions are subject to double-blind peer review. Authors must ensure that the manuscript does not include any identifying information (e.g., author names, affiliations) to preserve the integrity of the blind review process.

  • Revisions: Authors may be required to revise their manuscript based on reviewer feedback. Revised manuscripts should be resubmitted along with a response letter outlining how the reviewers’ comments have been addressed.

  • Acceptance and Publication: Upon acceptance, authors will be notified and the article will be scheduled for publication in an upcoming issue of Tijara.
